Cruiserweight contender BJ Flores (31-1-1) is in the final stages of his training camp for his July 25th showdown against former light heavyweight champion Beibut Shumenov (15-2). The fight takes place at the Palms Casino and Resort in Las Vegas and will be broadcast on NBC Sports as part of Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions series. The fight will be for the interim WBA cruiserweight title.

Flores, who is 7-0 since suffering his only career loss to Danny Green, is holding a grueling camp for this fight. The expert analyst for NBC has brought several top notch sparring partners into his camp.

"I sparred Steve Cunningham 4 weeks ago. I've been getting good work from undefeated light heavyweight prospect Trevor McCumby (19-0) and with (heavyweight contender) Bryant Jennings. I wanted the hardest preparation for this fight," Flores told BoxingScene.com.

The televised co-feature will also feature cruiserweights. In a battle of unbeaten fighters, Jordan Shimmell (19-0) will face Isiah Thomas (14-0).
