As Gabriel Rosado prepares for his December 19th clash against Joshua Clottey at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in New York, he will have a familiar face in the corner - former junior middleweight champion Fernando Vargas, who now owns and operates the Feroz Fight Factory in Las Vegas and now trains boxers.

"He's been here two weeks and we've been doing amazing, all the sparring and really getting him to go to the body like a Mexican and he's doing stuff he's never done before," said Vargas, who's relatively short but colorful career included two world titles at junior middleweight and memorable battles against the likes of Winky Wright, Ike Quartey, Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya.

Vargas retired with a record of 26-5(22 KO's).

"I'm excited about it and this is all because I prayed it," said Vargas of his new found passion.

"I know people don't like to talk about God but this is God's work that this is happening and I'm excited about it. I asked God to put me on the main stage to show my talent as a trainer and now we have the opportunity to be on HBO."

The Rosado-Clottey fight will actually be televised on HBO Latino, alongside the light heavyweight clash between Vyacheslav Shabranskyy and Yuniesky Gonzalez. Later on that night, HBO will have a 'Boxing After Dark' telecast which features heavyweights Luis Ortiz and Bryant Jennings and a junior lightweight contest between Nicholas Walters and Jason Sosa.
