LAS VEGAS -- Fernando Vargas the "Ferocious One" will be making an announcement that will change the world of boxing once again as well as launching his company Vargas Entertainment Promotions (VEP), which is set to bring in some of the top boxers in the nation.  The three-time world champion will be honored with his very own star on the "Las Vegas Walk of Fame."  Vargas will be the first athlete to receive a star in the city best known for its entertainment, boxing matches and celebrities. Vargas will be receiving his star in Las Vegas on January 28th, 2011, where a press conference will be held at the luxurious and hip Palms Casino Resort.

The "Ferocious One" has jumped back stronger and fit than ever. "I am excited to be able to speak to my fans for the first time after everything they have seen thru media.  Being honored by one of the most famous cities in the world with a star is something I would have never imagined.  I look forward to sharing my announcement with the world and bringing back the real definition of traditional boxing to the world thru VEP," says Fernando Vargas.  Vargas will be hosting an event sponsored by Corona and EA Sports at LAX Nightclub at the Luxor Hotel to follow his big announcement.

Vargas is a Mexican American boxer and three-time world champion, who won a bronze medal as an amateur in the 1995 Pan American Games in Mar del Plata. His nicknames include "Ferocious", "The Aztec Warrior" and "El Feroz". Vargas is the youngest Jr. Middleweight Champion in the history of the sport.
