Ponce, Puerto Rico - The Fedecaribe champion of the World Boxing Association at 135-pounds, Fernando Torres (16-1, 9KO's), will attempt to avenge his only loss by taking on Carlos Claudio (10-5, 3KO'S) on a card put together by Universal Promotions on Friday, February 18 at the Auditorio Juan "Pachin" Vicens in Ponce.

"I'm very anxious to arrive on February 18 to fight with Claudio," said Torres.

The first Claudio confrontation resulted in a decision loss to Torres when a clash of heads in the ninth round caused a gash on his left eyebrow. When examined by the doctor on duty, it was determined that he couldn't continue and it went to the cards, with Claudio winning a decision.

Torres he said "In the ninth round I had him hurt ... I was connecting with everything. If I had more time I'm sure I would have won by knockout. The important thing is that I got the chance to face him again."

The first fight of the evening will begin at 6:00 pm.
