Australian boxing legend Jeff Fenech has taken a swipe at Jeff Horn’s head trainer, Glenn Rushton, as Horn's anticipated fight looms near with undefeated Tim Tszyu.

Former WBO welterweight champion Horn meets world ranked super welterweight contender Tsyzu at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

Tszyu is the solid bettering favorite to defeat his countryman, who three years ago shocked the world when he upset Manny Pacquiao.

While Fenech is picking Horn to win the contest, he doesn't view Rushton as a key element of Horn's success.

When the fight was first announced, Fenech had picked Tszyu - but only due to Rushton's involvement.

The Hall of Famer is a bit offended, claiming that Rushton goes in the media to take credit for Horn's victories in the ring.

“Early on in the piece, I thought Tim could win this, because honestly I don’t think Jeff gets any instructions at all during his fights,” Fenech told Fox Sports.

“You can watch them all. He goes back to his corner, and whether he’s won a round or lost it, his trainer says he wins, which is pretty sad, because to think what he’s achieved on his own, it makes it even more special for Jeff Horn.”

Fenech, a former world champion who became a top trainer, had some very choice words about Rushton's level of work in camp.

“He holds the pads, and Jeff Horn doesn’t even hit them … I watched it a couple of weeks ago, and I was like, ‘Is this a f--king joke?’ He’s not even hitting the pads. He’s hitting him on the arms, on the forearms, on the chest; it’s just crazy,” Fenech said
