New Face of Boxing has advised BoxingScene.com that their fighter, featherweight prospect Luis "Popeye" Lebron (9-0-1) will return to action on Saturday in Santo Domingo, DR against local fighter Alan Guzman (19-3).

The card is headlined by light heavyweight contender Felix Valera (15-2) who faces Beibi Berrocal in a bout scheduled for 11 rounds.

Valera has been out of the ring since losing a ten round unanimous decision to Sullivan Barrerar in an HBO televised fight last November.

The 24-year-old Lebron has been out of the ring since June when he captured the WBA Fedelatin featherweight title with a dominant unanimous decision victory over the then undefeated Manuel Botti (23-2-1) in Atlantic City.

According to New Face of Boxing, if all goes well on March 17th, the San Juan Puerto Rico native will get right back in the ring in April against and opponent and at a venue to be determined.

IN OTHER NEWS: Cristofer Rosales from Nicaragua will travel to Japan to face World Boxing Council flyweight champion Daigo Higa on April 15 at the Yokohama Arena.

Speculation, expectation and anticipation about the bout has been gathering pace, as both fighters have each committed themselves to a spectacular victory. Higa`s promising he`ll KO Rosales, improving his undefeated perfect record of fifteen KO`s in fifteen fights, Cristofer Rosales (26-3, 17 KO`s) tersely responded:

"Honestly, I don`t care what Higa says! The question and answer is that I can do it in the fight. Higa shouldn`t be over confident! He`ll have a big surprise!

"Higa always goes out to look for the rivals, he's used to that. To give and to receive and nothing more. I have a defined plan, and I will not play at his strategy."
