It´s not New York or LA where international superstars meet these days. On Friday night, living boxing legend Evander Holyfield and star singer Justin Bieber caught up in Herning, Denmark. The four-time world heavyweight champion was in town to attend Saturday´s TV2 Fight Night and promote his upcoming legends-of-the-ring clash with Brian Nielsen in Copenhagen on May 7, while Bieber gave a concert in front of a sell-out crowd at the brand-new Jyske Bank BOXEN. The 17-year-old has most recently done a sparring session with WBA Heavyweight Champion David Haye in London. Bieber was excited to meet “The Real Deal” and had a skateboard and gloves signed. “It was great to meet Justin Bieber,” Holyfield said. “My kids would have loved this, too. I can´t wait to show them the pictures and tell them about it.”

Bieber wished Holyfield well for his upcoming fight. After looking at his opponent Brian Nielsen, he asked the Real Deal in what round he was going to knock the Dane out.

Holyfield and Nielsen then watched the World Tour concert from a skybox, enjoying the special atmosphere inside Boxen. Both will attend tonight´s TV2 Fight Night at the Kongrescenter, where 20-year-old middleweight sensation Patrick Nielsen will be looking to continue his way up the rankings with a victory over Gary Boulden. Said promoter Nisse Sauerland: “I think everybody enjoyed the meet-and-greet. It was good fun and tells you something about Herning. Sports fans know it´s the boxing capital of Denmark because of the Mikkel Kessler bouts and the TV2 Fight Nights. But if you have Evander Holyfield and Justin Bieber in town on the same day you are awarded the start of the Giro D´Italia, that is truly an amazing accomplishment. It speaks volumes about MCH Herning´s international reputation and the way how things are done here.”

Past events at Jyske Bank BOXEN include Lady Gaga, Princ, Linkin Park, Elton John with Ray Cooper, the Women's Handball Championship (Euro 2010), Kylie Minogue - Aphrodite Tour 2011 and We Will Rock You (Queen Musical). Bob Dylan, Genesis, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay and Ozzy Osbourne have also performed in Herning.
