As promoter Eddie Hearn already hinted on camera last Saturday, WBC female super featherweight champion Eva Wahlstrom has principally agreed on terms for defending her title versus up and coming British prospect (& IBO champion) Terri Harper at the start of February 2020.

"We haven't signed the official contract yet, but we have indeed given a positive answer to their offer which we received some three weeks ago," confirms Eva's boxing adviser Petri Paimander.

"Eva was really looking for a fight with her top-rated challenger Mikaela Mayer at this point, but Top Rank was unable to commit for making the fight despite asking several times about it. As Matchroom approached with a very serious offer, TR management even recommended to us to secure this lucrative title defense opportunity," continued Paimander.

Before meeting Harper, Eva will first have an 8-round non-title warm-up fight versus Kenyan Consolata Musanga (8-4-3 with 6 kayoes) in Salo, Finland on the 30th of November.

"I am not yet going to think too much ahead but rather concentrate on the task in front of me at the end of the month," says Eva when asked about Harper.

"I have previously faced two other Kenyan boxers in the professional ring and both of them came to fight and presented a brisk challenge. I believe Musanga will also put up a solid effort, be aggressive and enable me to hone my counterpunching skills," analyzed Eva when discussing her upcoming opponent in Salo.
