Maravilla Box plans to stage the all-Spanish fight between EBU 126 lb title holder Marc Vidal, 11-1-4, and former world champ Kiko Martinez, 38-8-1, in the second or third week of May in Elche where Martinez resides, writes Espabox. Martinez got the chance when Sergio Blanco suddenly re-retired and Maravill Box won the purse bids for the right to stage the fight.

Next up for newly crowned EBU light heavyweight Dominic Boesel could be a defence against Enrico Koelling, who won his fight on the undercard to Boesel vs Demchenko. Also in the mix are two other SES fighters in German champ Adam Deines and Stefan Haertel, who lost a split decision to Deines.

Sauerland Event´s show set for March 17 in Hannover is off as Patrick Wojcicki is sidelined with an injury. Wojcicki was set to headline the show with a fight for the IBF I/C middleweight title against Ronny Mittag.

Eva Wahlstrom´s defence of the WBC female super featherweight title against Melissa St Vil that was set for March 9 is now to go ahead on April 6 in Helsinki. The venue is also changed from the Kisahall to the Centre of Culture. The show is billed as No Excuses and in the co-feature super middleweight Niklas Rasanen takes on Cuban - living in Finland - Dayron Lester in an exciting domestic clash.

Iceland has, at the moment, two professional fighters - both are licensed in Sweden and one of them, Valgedur Gudsteinsdottir, 3-0, writes history when she steps into the ring against Khatarina Thanderz, 7-0, next Saturday in Oslo. It will be the first time that an Icelandic fighter, male or female, fights for a professional boxing title.

Thanderz vs Gudsteinsdottir is for the WBC Int´l female title at lightweight. Thanderz was to have defended the EBU 130 lb title against Toussy L`Hadji but she pulled out reportedly due to problems with the very strict Norwegian safety rules.

26-year old German heavyweight Christian Thun turned pro Friday night in Monaco with a two-round stoppage over Georgian  Giorgi Urjumelashvili. Thun went 49-6 as an amateur, has sparred with both Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko and done well. Thun, 6ft 9 and about 270 lbs, is trained by David Godber and managed by Medhi Ameur. Next up is three fights at the Gran Casino in Lloret de Mar in Spain.

Thun´s stablemate is Johan Duhaupas, who now prepares in France for his fight April 28 against Jarrell Miller. Duhaupas will train in the US for the last six weeks leading up to the fight.
