Newly crowned WBA regular cruiserweight king Ryad Merhy (29-1) and Youri Kalenga (25-6) headline a 12 Rounds Promotion show with an exhibition.

Merhy won the interim version of the WBA crown when he stopped Imre Szello in October of 2019 and has been inactive since then mainly due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He was upgraded to regular champ when the WBA stripped Beibut Shumenov. Mandatory challenger is Yunier Dorticos. Promoter Alain Vanackere is working on getting the fight to Belgium - and if it comes off it will be the first defense of a Belgian world champ at home.

As for "El Toro" Kalenga (25-6) he is booked to fight Stanislav Kutin (9-2) on April 23 in Poland with WBC Francophone at stake.

AGON Sports in Berlin staged their first show on their own network last night. There were five title fights on the bill. In the headliner jr. middleweight Haro Matevosyan (12-0) knocked out Italian Stefan Castellucci (33-10) in the fourth to win the vacant IBF Intercontinental title. Middleweight Thomas Piccirillo (8-0-2) won the vacant German (BDB version) title with a ninth round knockout over Adam Amkhadov (7-2). Cuban super middle prospect William Scull (16-0) won the vacant IBO International title with a unanimous decision over Dutchman Gino Kanters (8-4-2).

Jaouad Belmehdi (11-0-3), Le Bombardier Marocain, won the vacant French lightweight title with a first round stoppage over Sabri Sediri (13-2-1). Sediri started well but was hurt one minute into the fight and was floored three times before it was stopped.

Former WBA and EBU super welter champ Lukas Konecny (52-5) closed out his long career with a final farewell fight as he stopped Pavel Albrecht (6-9) in the fifth of a scheduled six-rounder in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic, The show billed as Save Boxing had 27 fights scheduled but "only" about 20 went ahead. In the headliner Erik Agateljan (7-0) won the vacant national super lightweight title with a points win over Josef Zahradnik (12-5).

Super middleweight Lukasz Stanioch (5-0) knocked out veteran Rafal Jackiewicz (51-28-3) Friday evening in Warsaw. The 44-year old former EBU welter champ is still capable but has his best days behind him. Jackiewicz was floored in the first and kayoed in the third.
