Former WBO Int'l welterweight champ Paolo Roberto (28-4-1) was caught buying sexual services from a prostitute in Stockholm, Sweden last week. This is illegal in Sweden and Roberto confessed and was handed a fine for 25,000 SEK (about 2500 USD) but the story doesn't end there.

Since retiring from boxing Roberto has built a small empire of companies and has been in the restaurant and health business but mainly he´s been a TV-host and celebrity. When the news broke that he had been caught in a police razzia for this kind of crime it became headline news in the tabloids - and still is - and he lost his TV-host assignments, and his other businesses appears to be going down the tube as well.

The now 51-year old retired in 2003 - he challenged for the WBC super welterweight title in 1999 and for the WBO middleweight crown against Armand Krajnc in 2001 but came up short both times and it must be said that while he was a decent fighter he was nowhere near world class but had the necessary financial backing to make title shots come his way.

Roy Jones Jr Promotion' s Swedish middleweight Shady Gamhour (12-0) is not fighting in Mexico on May 30 as indicated by boxrec. Even without corona he would be unable to fight as he is still sidelined with a back injury.

Gamhour was lined up to fight Steve Rolls in Canada late January but had to pull out due to a bad back and the injury still lingers.
