Masternak is ranked # 5 by the IBF while Whateley is # 10.in their September ratings.

French super lightweight Bastien Ballesta (24-0-1) is in against Venezuelan Samuel Gonzales (23-8) on November 18 in Sete (France). At stake is the vacant IBF International title.

Ballesta has previously held the EU, WBC Francophone, IBO Mediterranean and French titles so he's got quite a collection of belts at home already.

Hard punching Spanish super middleweight Jose Luis Navarro (7-0, 7 KO) takes on Celso Neves (9-2-2) on November 12 in Berlin on AGON Sports promotion.

Navarro was a big hit on the last AGON when he stopped previously unbeaten Dimitar Tilev and is thus back in Germany.

Former EBU featherweight champion Manuel Masso has passed away at the age of 67 after battling illness for many years, writes aebox.org.

Masso fought professionally from 1973 through 1986 and compiled a record of 40-3-1. He won the EBU title in 1977 with a stoppage win over Nino Jiminez but lost the title later the same year when he was knocked out by Roberto Castanon.

Former Italian heavyweight champion Piero Tomasini has passed away at the age of 86. Tomasini challenged then EBU champs Henry Cooper and Karl Mildenberger (twice) but came up short. He did beat the likes of Jack Bodell and Juergen Blin though.

He fought professionally from 1961 through 1969 and compiled a record of 33-9-5.
