Enrico Scacchia, one of the best fighters to come out of Switzerland, has passed at the age of 56 after a long battle with cancer.

Scacchia went 41-8-3 throughout the 80´s and challenged twice for the EBU title, at super welter against future world champ Said Skoum and at super middle vs Dutchman Alex Blanchard.

Dane Tom Jensen passed away recently at the age of 71. Jensen turned pro in 1967 and retired early in 1975 with a record of 43-8-2 fighting at middleweight and light heavy. He came close to the best in Europe but also seemed lose those important fights that would take him to the top and always fought in the shadow of the great Tom Bogs.

In June Lolenga Mock won the vacant IBA super middleweight title in what was described as his farewell fight.

The IBA had already then sanctioned another fight for its what they thought were a vacant title and it was won by Eric Moon.

Since then the 47-year old Mock has decided to continue his career and wants to defend the title he won in June and never officially relinquished. 

Solution? Moon is named current IBA World Super Middleweight champion while Mock is the interim IBA World Super Middleweight champion.

French light heavyweight champ and former Olympian Mathieu Bauderlique (18-1) retained the title with a unanimous decision over tough veteran Doudou Ngumbu (38-10) in the main event of Asloum Event´s big show in Le Cannet Thursday (July 18) night.

It was scored 119-108 twice and 117-110. Ngumbu suffered a cut early in the fight that kept bothering him.

In other action lightweight Yvan Mendy (43-5-1) outscored Mexican Diego Fabian Eligio (20-4-1) in a defence of the WBA I/C title and super welter Dylan Charrat (18-0-1) won the vacant EU title with a close points win over Howard Cospolite (17-7-3). The two drew the first time around.
