Belgian fighter Bilal Laggoune (26-5-2) had signed a contract to fight Danish star Kem Ljungquist (16-0) on March 9 in Copenhagen, with the vacant WBA Intercontinental super cruiserweight at stake.

The contract clearly stated that Laggoune could not compete in any fights after January 13.

However, on Saturday February 3, Laggoune fought on a IBA Boxing Night in Serpukhov (Russia) against Artem Suslenkov (9-0), looked out of shape and was stopped in the third round.

Laggoune is thus out of the fight against Ljungquist and Kem Ljungquist Promotions is looking for a new opponent.

As for Laggoune, well, he is in breach of contract but what the consequences will be is unclear.

Still on for the show in Copenhagen is a fight for the vacant Danish featherweight title between Ahmad Chauki El Ahmad (3-0) and Michael Nielsen (7-4)

WBO I-C cruiser champ Kevin Melhus (11-0) defends the title against German boxer Pascal Wolters (11-1) on April 6 in Oslo (Norway).

Should featherweight Bernard Torres (18-1) come through the fight on February 16 in New York City against Bruce Carrington (10-0) without any physical issues, he is booked to fight Venezuelan Yeison Juarez (16-4).
