Adrian Diaconu may be defending the WBC Int´l light heavyweight title at home in Romania on August 5 against German Kai Kurzawa.

 

Despite the ongoing World Cup in soccer, there´s been some activity in Europe during the past weekend. On June 23, Jean Louise Mandengue won the vacant EU 175 lb title against Majid Zaim on a ninth round stoppage in Mazures, France. On the same night in Strelice, Czech Republic, cruiserweights Lubos Suda and Roman Kracik tuned up for bigger fights. Suda stopped Ralf Reimer in the fourth while Kracik outscored Vladimir Druso over six. In Kiev, Ukraine, lightweight Vasyl Tarabarov won a decision over journeyman Rakhim Mingaleev for the national title. On June 25, jr middleweight Gotthard Hinteregger tko´d Gogi Knesevic for the Austrian title in Velten on a small pro/am bill.

 

Italian Giuseppe Lauri takes on Brit Jason Cook for the vacant EBU 140 lb title on July 7 in the UK with Matchroom promoting. The winner will then face Gianluca Branco.
