Marco Huck Promotions were the sole bidders at today's purse bids in Rome for Joe Joyce's mandatory defense of the EBU title against former cruiserweight king Marco Huck.

Huck Promotions bid 260,000 Euro with date and site to be announced.

Joyce will probably not lose any sleep over this and is likely to relinquish the title when the time comes. However, should he be defeated by Carlos Takam on July 24, then his interest in defending the EBU title will probably go up.

Swedish super lightweight Anthony Yigit is back in the United States and Miami, Florida, for another  training camp and is booked to fight on the undercard to Jermell Charlo vs Brian Castano on July 17 in San Antonio, Texas.

Yigit (24-1-1) last fought two years ago and has been training for a number of fights by now only to see them fall through for one reason or another.

Yigit begins acting school in Stockholm in the fall and has made it clear that boxing is no longer his first priority.

Samir Ziani's (32-3-1) defense of the EBU 130 lb title against mandatory challenger John Carter (13-0-1) will now go ahead on August 13 in either Granada or Marbella (Spain). This is Ziani's third defence of the title he won against Juli Giner in 2019.

Light heavyweight prospects Tom Dzemski (17-1) and Michael Eifert (7-1) headline SES'  next outdoor show at the Elbauenpark in Magdeburg. This is a rematch and Dzemski won the first fight on a very close majority decision. At stake are the IBF Youth title held by Dzemski and WBO Youth belt held by Eifert.

The chief supports feature heavyweight Peter Kadiru (10-0) and cruiser Juegen Uldeday (13-0) and both will have their first fight of the year against opponents to be announced.
