Former longtime WBO cruiserweight king Marco Huck (45-5-1), now campaigning as a heavyweight, has been waiting for a long time for his shot at the EBU title.

Marco Huck Promotion won purse bids for Huck to challenge Joe Joyce but the Brit relinquished the title. The EBU has now appointed fellow German and former EBU ruler Agit Kabayel (23-2 or 21-0 depending on if include or exclude Kabayel's participation in the Bigger is Better Tournament) as co-challenger for the vacant title.

The EBU has set September 22 as deadline for purse bids and look for both Marco Huck Promotions and Kabayel's promoter SES to bid high for the rights to this exciting matchup.
