An international clash between two hard-nosed veterans will crown an event of club boxing in Bialystok, Poland, on the 7th of September.

Michal Syrowatka will be the hometown hero, as he is based in a nearby city of Elk. Syrowatka is 20-3, 7 KOs, and coming off a decision loss to undefeated Dane Enoch Poulsen.

He is best known for back-to-back twelve-round thrillers against Brit Robbie Davis Jr., one which he won, and one, which he lost - both on the last-round TKOs.

Syrowatka battles against rugged Russian welterweight champion Maxim Churbanov (8-4-1). Churbanov had wins over Alexander Kotov and Magomed Bulguchev (twice). He has already fought in Poland, losing to 10-1-1 Michal Lesniak on a close call.

The event will be promoted by Dariusz Snarski. Churbanov is promoted by the Yuka Boxing.

IN OTHER NEWS: The situation at IBO light heavyweight is at the moment a bit complicated.

Sven Fornling holds the title but is sidelined with a long term injury and is not yet in full training but says he´s 99% ready. He´s got an extension for his next (and first) defence of the title until January 15 2020.

This defence must be against interim title holder and mandatory challenger Igor Mikhalkin, who like Sven is promoted by EC Boxing in Hamburg.

However, Mikhalkin is also mandatory challenger for the EBU title held by Dominic Boesel, who is promoted by SES. The parties have negotiated for some time - and according to EC promoter Erol Ceylan the plan is to have them in a separate fights early this fall, with a showdown to take place later this year.
