Belgian heavyweight Ryad Merhy (32-2) has relinquished his position as challenger for the vacant EBU heavyweight title and German Granit Shala (15-0) has stepped in. In the other corner is none other than Daniel Dubois (20-2).

The EBU has set February 19 as the deadline for purse bids. 

Shala is promoted by Agon Sports while Dubois is with Queensberry.

WBC Mediterranean cruiserweight king Goran Babic (8-1-2) will defend the title against Jonathan Kogassi (10-0) on April 13 at the Allianz Cloud in Milan, Italy. 

Babic is of Serbian descent but is based in Stockholm (Sweden). He won the title by stopping Belgian Kamel Kouaouch (12-3) and has previously challenged for both the Serbian and Swedish titles.

Kogassi represented Kongo in the 2019 World championships but has been based in Italy for a few years now.

Cruiserweights Claudio Squeo (15-0) from Italy and Finn Niklas Rasanen (17-2-1) will meet for the vacant IBF European title in April in Rome on a BBT Promotion. Exact date is to be announced.

Former WBC and IBO female super welter champ Mikaela Lauren (32-6) will come back on the Danish Fight Night on February 24 in Copenhagen. 

Lauren, 48 years old, has told media in Sweden that she never wanted to retire but had to take a break to concentrate on a becoming a mother. Mikaela's daughter is now two years old and her mother is ready to go again in a one fight at a time comeback. Opponent is to be announced.

Hans Huber has passed away at the age of 90 in Regensburg, Germany. Huber represented West Germany in the 1964 Olympics and made it all the way to finals where he lost to Joe Frazier, who went on to become heavyweight champion of the world while Huber settled in for a career outside of the ropes and never turned pro.

Agon Sports has signed up lightweight prospect Hamsat Shadalov (6-0), who represented Germany in the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo lightweight) 

Agon has also signed up another prospect in super welter in Paul Wall (5-0).
