Former WBA super welterweight champ Jack Culcay wrote yesterday on his Facebook page that he is no longer under contract with Sauerland Event.  Culcay, 22-3, lost to Maciej Sulecki in his last fight and before that he lost the WBA crown to Demetrius Andrade.

"Golden" Jack Culcay got his nickname after winning the World Amateur championship in 2009 and then turned pro with Universum.  When Universum folded in 2011, Culcay signed with Sauerland and won the EBU super welterweight title in 2013 and then the WBA interim crown in 2015.

Culcay´s next move is to be announced shortly.

Yesterday the EBU announced the fight for the vacant EBU light heavyweight title between Dominic Boesel and Serhyi Demchenko March 3 in Weissenfels and today it was officially confirmed by SES.

And not only that, SES also announced two new signings in light heavyweight Enrico Koelling (24-2) and super middleweight Stefan Haertel (15-0), both formerly with Sauerland Event. Both will fight March 3 and Koelling, last seen losing to Artur Beterbiev,  will be featured in the co-headliner against an opponent to be announced.

Sergio Martínez´s company Maravillabox Promotions will organize a big show at the X Meeting Point in Oslo (Norway) March 10. This will be their first boxing event under the name of ‘Maravillabox Nordic’, the promotional name of the company for Northern Europe.

Sergio Martínez is now trying to expand his company to Norway and bordering countries with EBU super featherweight female champion Katharina Thanderz, from Norway but living in Alicante (Spain) since she was ten years old, headlining the inaugural show. Thanderz will defend her title against Taoussy L’Hadji from France.

 In the co-main event the local Alexander Hagen will fight for the vacant BBU light heavyweight title against Pole Przemyslaw Gorgon in an eight-round contest.

The Philippine Norway-based Bernard Angelo Torres, yes, they do call him the Norwegian Pacman, and undefeated Spaniards Eva María Naranjo and Carlos Ramos are featured on the undercard. The show televised is by Viasat+ and viaplay.no

Light heavyweight Karo Murat, EBU champ will fight Argentinean Isidro Ranoni Prieto March 24 in Hamburg with the vacant IBO - previously held by Murat´s stablemate Igor Michalkin - at stake. This fight is added to a show that already features a big ticket seller in the showdown at super welterweight between Sebastian Formella and Angelo Frank and at cruiser unbeaten prospects Huseyn Cinkara and Tervel Pulev clash in a fight that most likely won´t go the distance.

The call came on Sunday and on Tuesday the deal was done and tomorrow night Finland´s boxing model Timo Laine steps in the ring with former WBA super middleweight champ Fedor Chudinov in Sochi on the undercard to Gassiev vs Dorticos with the WBA International title at stake. Laine, 21-9, have fought on the road before but never at this level in what reportedly is his biggest payday yet.
