It's official: Super lightweights Enock Poulsen (11-0) and Franck Petitjean (23-5-3) clash for the vacant EBU title on a Danish Fight Night promotion on April 21 at the Frederiksberg Hall in Copenhagen.

In the co-headliner IBF female featherweight champion Sarah Mahfoud (10-0) defends the title against mandatory challenger Nina Meinke (12-2).

This show was first scheduled for January 7 but had to be postponed due to corona restrictions.

Former Italian champion and EBU title challenger Giuseppe "Bepi" Ros has passed away at the age of 79 after a long battle with Alzheimer's, reports boxeringweb.

Ros won a bronze medal in the 9164 Tokyo Olympics and turned pro in 1965 and fought professionally until 1976 winning and losing the national title against the likes of Dante Cane, Lorenzo Zanon and Mario Baruzzi. In 1973 he challenged Joe Bugner for the European title but lost a decision to Joe Bugner after 15 rounds of boxing.. He retired with a record of 42-16-2.

EBU cruiser champ Chris Billam Smith (14-1) will make a voluntary defense of the title against an opponent to be announced on April 16 in the UK on a Matchroom promotion.

New as mandatory challenger is Richard Riakporhe (13-0), who takes on Italian Fabio Turchi (20-1) March 26.

Sanman Promotions staged the seventh episode of their bubble series, with all fights ending in knockouts.

In the main event, Dave Apolinario proved he is still in the roster of elites as he disposed Mike Kinaadman in the fifth round via stoppage. This was followed by Vince Paras stopping tough and game Reymark Taday.

In the fourth bout, Ben Manangquil dominated Crison Omayao finally knocking him out in the fifth round. The third fight showcased RV Daniega battering Jerry Pabila and ending the fight in the second round.

The most surprising result was the debut fight of Gabriel Tapales. Instead of sizing up his opponent, Tapales went all in and made a quick knockout of Elizer Ambon seconds after the opening bell.

Lastly in the curtain raiser, Carjun Carcosia showed he has a lot of potential as he halted Rodel Sungit in the fourth round.

The fight for the vacant EBU lightweight title between Yvan Mendy (46-5-1) and Gianluca Ceglia (17-3-1) will go ahead April 30 at Gymnase La Salamandre in Pont Sainte Maxence, France.

As previously mentioned the winner has Finn contender Edis Tatli as mandatory challenger.
