The newly crowned WBC interim super-welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus is reportedly planning a final fight to close out her long career.

According to Norwegian publication NRK, Braekhus (38-2-1)  will fight on March 8, 2025 at the Unity Arena in Fornebu, Norway.

The guest list, reports the same publication, will include her gym-mate and good friend Halle Berry, Mike Tyson, and Oscar De La Hoya.

Braekhus, 42, turned professional in 2007 and won her first major title in 2009 when she beat Dane Vinni Skovgaard in what proved to be one of the toughest fights of her career. She dominated the female welterweight division for over ten years before losing to Jessica McCaskill.

She has been based in the US for the most recent chapter of her career, and if her farewell fight is finalised it will prove her first fight in Norway since 2017.

Asenjo, who lost to Gabriela Fundora in a fight for the IBF flyweight title, is sidelined with an injury. Replacing Asenjo is the little-known Bolivian Carla Camila Campos (5-2).
