Pandemic or not this past weekend was a busy one in Europe with big events staged all over the continent on Saturday night. The cards were mostly live streamed and with either a small group at ringside or no crowd on hand.

Belgian 12 rounds, headed by Alain Vanackerer, put on a big show at the Dome in Charleroi topped by an exhibition between WBA cruiserweight king Ryad Merhy and contender Youri Kalenga.

Super lightweight Antoine Vanackere (16-1) took only 1.04 of the first to knock out Ivan Njegac (12-17) and cruiser Kamel Kouaouach (11-0) outscored Jiri Svacina (14-46).

A team of visiting Irish fighters went 4-1 on the bill with Polish light heavyweight Krysztof Stawiarski beating Rhys Moran while heavyweight Niall Kennedy returned to the win column as did Ray Moylette.

In Dudelange, Luxembourg, another team of Irish fighters visited and again the result was 4-1 for the Irish. Female super lightweight Katelynn Phelan (5-0) outscored tough Pole Karina Kopinska (a misleading 13-37-4) over eight. Middleweight Dominic Donegan (5-1) lost an upset decision to Bosnian Milan Sladjanjin (14-24). On the non-Irish part of the bill French middle Gregory Trenel (13-6-2) beat Bulgarian Radoslav Mitev (13-56-4). Trenel has been in tough of lately losing in the US to Edgar Berlanga and in Spain to EBU champ Sergio Garcia.

Austrian middleweight Marcos Nader (23-1-1) won a unanimous decision over ten to retain the IBF International title against German challenger Alexander Pavlov (11-2) in the headliner of a show in Vienna.

In Badia del Valles in Spain, British middleweight Brian Rose (32-6-1) won a close decision in a six rounder of Jose Manuel Lopez Clavero (13-15-1) and super lightweight Alejandro Moya (14-0) stopped Venezuelan Sandro Hernandez (15-16-3) in three.
