WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF and IBO female welterweight champ Cecilia Braekhus was interviewed by Norwegian paper VG the day after her win over Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes and the First Lady stated she was more or less through with boxing and even said she was ready for retirement.

However, there are still some big fights out there and Braekhus and VG pointed out three mega-fights that might during 2019 and they are against Chris Cyborg, Claressa Shields and Katie Taylor.

In regards of Taylor, she fights Finland´s Eva Wahlstrom this coming weekend and should Wahlstrom win - she is a indeed a big underdog but not without a chance - then Braekhus has one of her mega-fights right at home in Norway (or Finland).

Tiger Promotions inaugural promotion that should have gone ahead this past weekend is now rescheduled for March 16, 2019. The main event was a heavyweight clash between Izu Ugonoh and Ali Eren Demirezen. However, after the death of Ugunoh´s first coach and mentor died it was decided to postpone the show. Tiger Promotions is headed by former WBO light heavy champ Dariusz Michalczewski.

The fight between Juli Giner and Samir Ziani for the vacant EBU super featherweight title is now on for February 2 with site still Barcelona. This Gallego Prada promotion was first on for December 14 but had to be postponed when Giner fell ill. As previously reported Ziani have come February 19 been official challenger for the title for over a year.

EBU lightweight champion Francesco Patera will defend the title against Marvin Petit on February 16 in Herstal, Belgium, in what is a mandatory defence of the title. Patera beat Englishman Lewis Ritson in a big upset to win the title.

Former WBA super middleweight champ Tyron Zeuge have been official challenger for the EU title for some time. The former champion Ronny Landaeta relinquished the title recently and now Zeuge have a co-challenger in Spaniard Adan Silvera, 10-1. Where and when is still open.
