Heavyweights Samo Jangirov (7-2-1) and Awad Tamimh (14-4 with many question marks around his early days) slugged it out in the headliner at Safiren in Katrineholm, Sweden, over six two minute rounds in a fight that saved the show.

Jangirov was to have defended the national title at cruiserweight but when his opponent David Loy pulled out Tamimh came in as a late sub and Samo moved up to heavyweight.

Jangirov covered up well and floored his opponent in the first but it soon heated up with both men talking, giving and taking and by the fifth round it was a brawl with the crowd on its feet. The local hero, Jangirov, landed with cleaner punches and was a deserved winner on scores of 59-54 twice and 58-55.

The co-feature between Salah Nazer Taha (5-0) and Tijan Kebbeh (4-3-2) was the complete opposite to the main event as these two wound up in a messy foul-filled contest that should have seen both men getting disqualified. As it was, Taha got the win on a split decision in what was billed as an eliminator to a shot at the Swedish super middle title.

In Madrid, Spain, featherweight Bernard Torres (15-0) from Norway stopped Jayro Duran in the seventh of a scheduled eight rounder and impressed. Torres is promoted by Maravilla Box.

It's not officially announced by Danish Fight Promotion but the EBU has announced that the fight for the vacant EBU super lightweight title between Enock Poulsen (11-0) and Massi Tachour (16-4) will go ahead on January 8 in Copenhagen.
