IBA Champions Night, also billed as the Monaco Boxing Grand Príx, goes ahead in Fontvieille, Monaco, on September 23.

In the headliners super lightweight Hugo Micallef (7-0) meets Czech champ Denis Bartos (12-6) and Venezuelan cruiser Albert Ramirez (16-0) square off against Dominican Lenin Castillo (34-4-1).

Also on the bill is amateur star Sofiane Oumhia, who is 3-0 as a professional fighter but returned to amateurs to win the recent IBA European championships.

‘The new format has proven itself as both a great opportunity for boxers and amazing action for spectators,’ IBA Interim Secretary General and CEO Chris Roberts OBE said. ‘These athletes receive a chance to improve their skills, try pro-style boxing within their ongoing IBA career, and earn money. This is a perfect combination of benefits, and I see that the boxers love this challenge. We are going to deliver more of these events, as the next one is to take place on 29 September 2023 in Antalya, Turkiye.’
