German heavyweight Agit Kabayel (21-0 / 23-2) was a "surprise guest" at the SES' show in Magdeburg on May 14. Kabayel floored Czech journeyman Pavel Sour four times and won on a first round stoppage.

Kabayel has been official challenger for the EBU title a long time now and had for almost that long Marco Huck as co-challenger but when he pulled out with an injury Frenchman Tony Yoka entered the picture but after the upset loss to Martin Bakole in Paris he is out.

It will now be the highest available challenger in the EBU ratings that gets appointed to official challenger.

Ringside Gym in Helsinki, Finland, was the scene of a hastily put together show where welterweight Oskari Metz (16-1) eased back into action after the first round loss to David Avanesyan and knocked out Latvian Antons Zacests in the second.

In another "fight" Jose Antonio Sanchez Romero (14-0-1) knocked out Maksims Denovs (0-3) in the second. Sanchez is official challenger for the EU super bantamweight title but apparently weighed in at lightweight while Denovs "fought" at super welter.

French super welterweight Souleymane Cissokho (15-0) is now official challenger along with German Jama Saidi (21-2) for the vacant EBU title.

Deadline for purse bids are June 7.

Milan Prat from France and Belgian Amaury Massenaux (10-0-1), fight for the vacant EU super welter title on June 25 in Cannet with EuroProm as promoter.

Prat (15-0-0-1) recently had the sole blemish on his record changed to a No Contest. He holds the French and IBF Youth titles.

IBF I-C super featherweight champ Samir Ziani (33-3-1) recently saw a planned defense of the title go up in smoke due to financial reasons. Next up is a fight in Texas on July 23 against Albert Bell (21-0), reports Le Petit Bleau.

Former EBU flyweight champion Vincent Legrand (33-1) called it a day after the win against Hector Betancourt (14-3) on Friday (May 13) night.

Legrand turned pro back 2009 and won the EBU title twice and was at his peak a very good fighter. He suffered his only loss against then EBU bantam champ Lee McGregor and looked ill prepared.
