Chris Eubank Sr., father and manager of Chris Eubank Jr. (23-1, 18KOs), is baiting Billy Joe Saunders (23-0, 12KOs) to give his son a rematch.

Saunders won a twelve round split decision over Eubank Jr. in November 2014 and has since become WBO world middleweight champion after unseating Andy Lee last December.

Both Saunders and Eubank missed out on facing unified middleweight king Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin next month. Neither fighter was pleased with the financial terms and requested more to face GGG.

Eubank Sr. The Express: "He said on Twitter that he is ready for the fight but I've seen nothing from him. Maybe he has had second thoughts. He's given his word to the boxing fans that he will have the rematch with Junior so now we're waiting to hear from him and his management team. We welcome the rematch, however we're not waiting around because we have offers from abroad."

In recent weeks, promoter Frank Warren won a purse bid to secure the promotional rights to Eubank Jr.'s mandatory defense of the British title against Tommy Langford (17-0, 6KOs), but Eubank Sr. hints that his son might go in another direction.

They would rather fight Saunders or Golovkin. If his son avenges the loss to Saunders, Eubank Sr. says it won't stamp the necessary proof of being the best in the sport. They need a win over Golovkin to prove that, says Eubank Sr.

"Junior is the British champion but we're not held by the British championship - we want to keep it but if we have to relinquish it and move on to other things we will do. Junior has to prove it now and to prove it he has to have the fights. And Golovkin is the one he can prove it against. If he fights Saunders, if Saunders comes out of hiding, then I think he will beat him," Eubank Sr. said.

"I think he'll outbox him this time. But I don't think it proves that he is the best in the world by beating Saunders. When he beats Golovkin he proves he's the best in the world as a pound-for-pound best."
