The summer season of Boxeo Telemundo is ready to go.

All boxers set to fight for Friday’s show not only made weight but were COVID-19 cleared to fight in front of a crowdless Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida. Headlining the summer season series premiere, Ricardo ‘Hindu’ Espinoza faces unbeaten Colombian prospect Brandon Valdes in a 10-round regional junior featherweight title fight (Friday, Telemundo, 12:00am ET/PT).

Tijuana’s Espinoza (24-3, 21KOs) came in right at the 122-pound limit, while Valdes was just under the mark at 121.8 pounds. The two will fight in unfamiliar surroundings, as will all those used to rabid environment provided by such shows in the region.

“In a perfect world, Friday’s card comes in front of a sold-out crowd as every event has been that we have staged here,” Felix ‘Tutico’ Zabala Jr., president of All-Star Boxing, Inc. told BoxingScene.com. “But we are blessed with a situation to move forward with the dates provided to us and everyone has adapted well, and we appreciate the team at NYC Laboratories for providing us with the safest possible environment for this show and the three more coming up.”

The evening’s supporting contest is similar to the main event in pitting a series regular versus an unbeaten foe. Bowling Green, Florida’s Daniel Lozano (15-9, 11KOs) weighed 122 pounds for a scheduled eight-round contest versus Miami-based Cuban junior featherweight prospect Jorge Romero (17-0, 12KOs), who weighed 121 pounds.

Also featured on the show is the anticipated pro debut of former amateur standout Bryan Polaco. The 22-year old southpaw from Fajardo, Puerto Rico weighed 153.5 pounds for his first career fight as he faces Erie, Pennsylvania’s Elliot Brown (2-16), who came in at 149 pounds for their scheduled four-rounder.
