A title fight between Mexico's Eduardo "Quill" Escobedo and Francisco Cordero of Colombia will be promoted in Sinaloa on Saturday, June 26.

Escobedo (27-3, 19 KOs) and Cordero (22-0, 14 KOs) will meet for the featherweight interim title of World Boxing Association (WBA) in a contest organized by Arce Promotions which will be televised throughout Mexico by Televisa.

The headquarters of the confrontation will be in the state of Sinaloa, and held at the port of Mazatlan or in the capital, Culiacan.

For the native of Mexico City, but lives in Texas, will not be an easy battle, as he will be measured against an opponent with experience despite his 23 years of age. In his latest challenge, the Colombian won a decision over Franklin Creek in Santa Marta on February 4.

But Escobedo proved his worth and talent to overcome one of the great prospects of Mexican boxing, winning a decision over Ensenada Hernandez on January 31 in the Federal District.
