Mexican featherweight Eduardo Escobedo will have the opportunity to get back a world title against Colombian Francisco Cordero in a WBA eliminator with a interim-title at stake. Escobedo (27-3, 19 KOs) and Cordero (22-0, 14 KOs) face off on June 26 in Mexico on card being showcased on Televisa.

Escobedo, 26, who is coached by Don Nacho Beristain wants get back the glory of being involved in big fights. He fought for the super bantamweight title of the WBO and lost a deicsion to Daniel Ponce de Leon in Las Vegas on December 8, 2008.

Francisco Cordero, Colombian, 23, is nicknamed "The Volcano" and has international experience. He left Colombia in 2009 and defeat Koseki Nakama by decision in Okinawa.

Jose Luis Castillo, who vowed to retire after his last poor ring performance, is trying to fight Alfonso Gomez on the same show in a rematch. Gomez destroyed Castillo in March on the Pacquiao-Clottey undercard at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Castillo quit in five rounds, but says he was in poor physical shape and plans to turn the tables on Gomez in a rematch. The only problem is, Gomez is not interested in the rematch or the money being offered. He plans to fight on a Top Rank Live card on July 17.
