WBC, IBF welterweight world champion Errol Spence is not looking for an easy fight in his comeback fight.

Spence last saw action back in September, when he won a tough twelve round decision over Shawn Porter to unify their welterweight titles at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

But the following month, Spence suffered several injuries when he was involved in a serious car accident.

Spence was slated to make a defense against Danny Garcia in the early months of 2020.

Because of the accident, his return got pushed back as he needed additional time to recover from the injuries.

With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Spence's ring return is left in limbo but he anticipates to see action by the fall.

And when he does return, he wants to test his skills against a top fighter in the ring.

"I don't need no tuneup nothing I'm a shark so put me in that deep water where I belong. That's where I belong don't put me don't put me nowhere in the pool. Put me in my natural habitat. I already told Al (Haymon) I can get my feet wet with the top guys," Spence told Brian Custer on The Last Stand podcast.

Spence believes that he's got something to prove, because there are some critics who feel the unbeaten boxer will not be the same after going through his car accident and extended time away from the ring.

"I'm hungry to get back at it, I got a lot of naysayers, people that don't think I'm going to come back like I use to.  But I'm going to come back even better than I was before," Spence said.
