Jose "Olivaritos" Morales, the father and trainer of former four division world champion Erik Morales, is very angry with USADA (U.S. Anti-Doping Agency) for threatening to suspend his son for two years. USADA issued a threatening letter over Morales' positive drug tests for clenbuterol, which came up prior to Morales' rematch with Danny Garcia last October in New York. USADA alleges that Morales used the drug to improve his performance in the match.

"We arrived [in New York] a week and a half in advance of the fight. In the first test they did, they told Erik there was a small amount of clenbuterol found. At the request of Danny's team, we were tested again and the result came out completely clean and that's why the [New York] Commission approved the match. They were aware that he could have eaten contaminated meat in Mexico, which is what has happened to several Mexican soccer players," Jose Morales said.

"Erik is with a clear conscience and does not give any importance to these charges because he did not commit any crime. He won seven world championships and never had a problem like the one being claimed by USADA. I'm very upset, angry. Why after so many months would they declare this?"

"Honestly it hurts me, because everyone knows the sacrifices that Erik and I had to go through, where we came from - to get to the top. It wasn't easy to leave our family to concentrate for long periods of time at the Otomi Ceremonial Center. Sincerely, I am angry they have placed my son's career, that he earned, into question."
