Super middleweight prospect Erik Bazinyan (14-0, 9KOs) captured the WBO youth title with a ten round unanimous decision win over German Aro Schwartz (11-2-0) at Tohu in Montreal. The event was presented by Grant Brothers Boxing Promotions.

Bazinyan began the fight by showing his strength and imposing his rhythm with his power shots. VHe was very active with his offense. He managed to control the fight and limited the majority of Schwartz' attacks.

The scores were wide in his favor, with all three judges scoring the contest 100-90.

It was Bazinyan's fourth win of the year. He stopped Zoltan Sera in two rounds June, Gergo Horvath in two rounds in March and then won an eight round decision Michael Ludwiczak in January.

Earlier in the evening, the Canadian champion Super middleweight Shakeel Phinn (9-1-0) dominated Finnish fighter Janne Forsman (22-6-0). Phinn dropped Forsman three times in the third round and recording a TKO victory.
