LAS VEGAS – Sebastian Fundora amazingly made the 154-pound limit with ease yet again Friday afternoon.

The 6-foot-6 Fundora, absurdly tall for the junior middleweight division, stepped on the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s scale at 152.8 pounds at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. A significantly shorter Erickson Lubin, who stands 5-foot-9½, officially weighed in at 153.2 pounds for their 12-round fight Saturday night for the WBC interim super welterweight title.

Showtime will televise the intriguing encounter between Fundora (18-0-1, 12 KOs), of Coachella, California, and Lubin (24-1, 17 KOs), of Orlando, Florida, as the main event of a tripleheader set to start at 10 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. PT.

Lubin, 26, will fight for the first time since he stopped former IBF/IBO/WBA 154-pound champion Jeison Rosario (22-3-1, 16 KOs) in the sixth round of their 12-round WBC elimination match last June 26 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Fundora, 24, will end a much shorter layoff. The rangy southpaw out-pointed Sergio Garcia unanimously in their 12-round December 5 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Lubin has won six straight fights since Jermell Charlo knocked him out with one punch in the first round of their mandated fight for Charlo’s WBC super welterweight title in October 2017 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The lone blemish on Fundora’s record is a 10-round split draw with Cincinnati’s Jamontay Clark (15-2-1, 7 KOs) in August 2019 at The Armory in Minneapolis.

Caesars Sportsbook lists Lubin (-150) as a slight favorite over Fundora (+125).

Tony Harrison and Garcia previously made weight for their 10-round, 154-pound co-feature before Lubin and Fundora arrived on stage.

Detroit’s Harrison weighed 153.4 pounds. Spain’s Garcia came in at 152.6 pounds.

Harrison (28-3-1, 21 KOs) hasn’t fought in nearly a year, not since his 12-round split draw with Bryant Perrella last April 17 at Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Garcia (33-1, 14 KOs) gave Fundora a more difficult fight four months ago than two of the scorecards indicated (118-110, 116-112, 115-113).

Just before Harrison and Garcia got on the scale, Perrella and Kevin Salgado met their contractual obligations for Showtime’s 10-round, 155-pound opener.

Perrella (17-3-1, 14 KOs), of Fort Myers, Florida, came in at 153.4 pounds. Mexico City’s Salgado (14-0, 9 KOs) weighed in at 154.2 pounds.
