Rising star Erickson "The Hammer" Lubin (14-0, 10 KOs) defeated Mexican brawler Jose De Jesus Macias (18-5-2, 9 KOs) in his first main event Sunday night on Premier Boxing Champions: The Next Round on Bounce TV from a sold out Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee in Immokalee, Florida.

Lubin, of Orlando, showed superior skills by using his quick hands and combination punching to offset Macias' come-forward style. In round five, Lubin scored a knockdown when he landed a cuffing right hook that forced Macias to touch the canvas with his glove.

The fast rising 20-year-old landed the harder blows and was looking to stop his opponent inside the distance. Macias continued to fight aggressively throughout the contest and he was able to survive and push Lubin to 10-rounds for the first time in his career.

Lubin remained perfect as a professional by scores of 99-90 and 100-89 twice.

MORE RESULTS TO COME...

Joseph Elegele returned to the ring with a vengeance, scoring a 6th round stoppage of Alex De Jesus. Elegele (15-2, 11KOs) scored knockdowns in rounds three, five and six, the latter forcing De Jesus (21-2, 13KOs) into submission  at 0:56 of round six.

Dennis Galarza was forced to go the distance for the first time in more than a year but managed an eight round decision over Samual Amoako. Scores were 80-72 across the board.

Dyah Ali Davis returned to the ring for the first time since the passing of his father, legendary amateur and 1976 Olympic Gold medalist Howard Davis Jr. He honored the family name in stopping Edgar Perez after two rounds of light heavyweight action. Davis scored a body shot knockdown just before the end of round two. Perez beat the count but informed his corner that he was in no condition to continue, marking the end at 2:59 of round two.

David Grayton managed to preserve his unbeaten record, but threw caution to the wind in stopping Brazil's Daniel Souza Santos after two rounds. Grayton (14-0, 10KOs) was down midway through round one, a flash - but clean - knockdown courtesy of a body blow, but regained his composure and dominated the remainder of the brief affair.

Souza Santos was dropped midway through round two, but benefited from an extended break after Grayton hit him while he was on the canvas. The knockdown was counted, but Grayton was docked two points for what was ruled an intentional foul. It didn't matter in the end as Souza Santos informed his corner that he was done prior to the start of round three.

Ray Lampkin produced the first knockdown - and stoppage - of the evening, scoring a 3rd round technical knockout of Darryol Humphrey in their lightweight scrap. Lampkin (9-0. 3KOs) floored Humphrey midway through the opening round and again in round three, the latter prompting an immediate halt to the contest. Official time was 1:37 of round three.

In a fun fight between sub .500 featherweights, Jesus Lule managed a four-round unanimous decision over Jamar Saunders. Scores were 39-39 (twice) and 40-36 in favor of Lule (8-15-1, 1KO), who ended a six-fight winless skid with the victory. Saunders (5-15-1, 2KOs) has now dropped nine straight dating back to 2010.

Hakeem Atkinson pulled off a minor upset in scoring a four-round unanimous decision win over previously unbeaten Azerbaijan's Farid Aghayev in the first bout of the evening.Scores were 39-36 and 38-37 (twice) in favor of Stone Mountain, Georgia-based Atkinson (2-1, 1KO), who overcame a slow start to pick up steam in the condensed middleweight bout. Aghayev (2-1-1, 2KOs) was deducted one point for excessive holding in round three, proving to the difference between remaining undefeated and being dealt his first career loss.
