THE unbeaten grandsons of the great Gabriel “Flash” Elorde Sr. will resume their quest for stardom against separate foes.

Bantamweight Juan Miguel “Mig” Elorde and junior lightweight southpaw Juan Martin “Bai” Elorde fight again on the boxing card of their father’s Johnny Elorde International Productions at the Elorde Sports Center in Sucat, Paranaque City, Philippines on July 25.

Johnny Elorde is the father of the two boxers and second eldest of the three sons among seven siblings of the late Flash Elorde and Laura Sarreal-Elorde, daughter of International Boxing Hall of Fame enshrinee, promoter Lope “Papa” Sarreal Sr.

Mig is a 22-year-old, 5-foot-8 tactical fighter with an unblemished record of 4-0 with one knockout since turning pro in March 2008 after graduation of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management (HRIM) from the College of St. Benilde in Manila.

Bai, 23, has more experience when compared to his brother. He turned pro two years ago also after taking his diploma, also HRIM, at the CSB.

After training as member of the national training pool of the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP), Bai (7-0, 2 KOs) campaigns as a pro at the same weight of his former WBC and WBA super featherweight world champ grandfather, and his father, who won the gold medal in junior lightweight division of the 1979 Southeast Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

It will be the first time Bai will show up in the ring since taking a lay-off after knocking out Romnick Dejano with a looping right to the forehead in the first round of his first scheduled six-round bout on Sept. 13, 2008 at the jam-packed Puerto Princesa Coliseum in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

Mig is coming off a unanimous decision over four rounds against Ronel Romasanta of Quezon province at the Manila Hotel Tent City in Manila during the 9th Gabriel "Flash" Elorde Memorial Boxing Awards and Banquet of Champions last March 25.
