Ellis Hopkins is relishing the chance to join the booming women’s boxing revolution when she makes her professional debut this weekend.

She is part of the Matchroom Boxing event at the AO Arena in Manchester on Saturday, going up against experienced Borislava Goranova.

The 20-year-old is the latest female star to enter the paid ranks, following in the footsteps of the likes of Tasha Jonas, Chantelle Cameron and Savannah Marshall, and she can’t wait to get going.

Hopkins: “It’s a massive time for female boxing. The last few years it has gone from strength to strength and I’m so excited to be a part of it and make my debut this weekend.

“Everyone looks up to Katie Taylor, you can’t get better than that, and then you have people like Terri Harper and Tasha Jonas who are all big inspirations as well.

“I can box and fight and whatever happens on the night happens on the night. I just can’t wait to get in there and make my debut.”
