MANDALAY BAY, Las Vegas, Nevada - On February 17th Danny Garcia faces Brandon Rios in a Showtime televised main event. The 10 bout card is co-promoted by Mayweather Promotions and TGB Promotions.

Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe fully expects the main event to be action packed but believes that the co-feature bout will steal the show. That fight is WBC super middleweight champion David Benadvidez (19-0) versus Mayweather Promotions' Ronald Gavril (18-2) in a rematch of their September 8th bout that Benavidez won by split decision.

"This is the most anticipated fight and I am really excited about it. I can't wait to see Ronald become the new WBC super middleweight fight," said a confident Ellerbe to BoxingScene.com.

The super middleweight division is going through a very busy period right now. WBO champion Gilberto Ramirez defending his title less than two weeks ago and in the World Boxing Super Series, Chris Eubank Jr. takes on George Groves in the semi-finals on Saturday and WBA champion Juergen Braehmer battles Callum Smith a week later in the other semi-final.

The finals have been announced for June 2nd so if Gavril is able to pull off the upset he would have a lot of potential opponents for a fall ring return. Ellerbe acknowledges that there will be many opportunities but doesn't want to put the cart before the horse.

"There are a lot of possibilities but you don't get to those possibilities until you take care of business on the 17th of February. That is what Gavril is focused on. I fully expect Ronald to take that WBC strap," Ellerbe stated.

In an IBF welterweight eliminator, Yordenis Ugas fights Ray Robinson to open up the Showtime telecast.
