New York - More than 12,000 fans were on hand this past weekend at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center which has become a prime venue for boxing on the East Coast. Those on hand saw Mikey Garcia (37-0, 30 KO’s) dominate Adrien Broner (33-3, 24 KO’s) and add another notch for a potential 'Fighter of The Year' award.

Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions, was the lead promoter of the card and expects both fighters to remain very relevant in the future.

“It was a great card, outstanding turn out,” Ellerbe told BoxingScene.com “It was a great event and a great performance by Mikey Garcia. Adrien Broner will be ok, he just has to go back to the drawing board.”

Garcia has mentioned the names of Jorge Linares, Vasyl Lomachenko, Terence Crawford, and Manny Pacquiao as guys that he would like to fight next. He was even asked if he would be willing to fight Keith Thurman, to which Garcia said he was open to the idea.

For Ellerbe, he feels the sky is the limit.

“Mikey can fight a number of guys,” stated Ellerbe. “He’s a very good fighter and I knew that all along. As as far as Adrien, he will be fine.”

Ellerbe's company will be promoting what will likely be the highest grossing event in combat sports for 2017, and maybe all-time, when Floyd Mayweather fights Conor McGregor on August 26th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Millions of eyes will be on the event, so those on the undercard will have a massive amount of exposure.

One fighter scheduled to appear in the co-featured slot of the undercard has already proven to be exciting, IBF super featherweight champion Gervonta Davis(18-0, 17 KO’s).

And Ellerbe feels the exposure of this upcoming card will help generate stardom for Davis.

“We’re going to make an announcement next week to give you the rest of the show with the undercard. A lot of eyes are going to see Gervonta Davis. There are going to be a lot of eyes on Gervonta Davis and he will be the next superstar in boxing,” Ellerbe said.
