El Paso County Coliseum, El Paso, Texas - In a very physical rough fight with plenty of fouls to go around, Alejandro Lopez (24-2, 7KOs) won a very unpopular twelve round unanimous decision over Takalani Ndlovu (33-8, 18KOs) in an IBF super bantamweight final eliminator. The scores were 116-111 (twice) and 117-112.

An accidental clash of heads opened up cuts on both boxers in the fourth. Lopez was hurt in the sixth and lost a point for holding. Lopez had a very good eleventh and Ndlovu's left eye was swollen by the end.

The scores were 77-73 twice and 75-75.
