31-year-old Russian light heavyweight prospect Egor Mekhontsev (10-0, 7KOs) will return to the ring in late January, according to his manager Vadim Kornilov.

Egor's last fight came on September 11th, when he suffered the first knockdown of his career but won an eight round unanimous decision over Jackson Junior. He dropped Junior in the first round and then suffered a knockdown of his own in the sixth.

It was the third fight, and win, of the year for Egor. He started with a first round destruction of Marcelo Silva in March and then came back in May to win an eight round unanimous decision over Hakim Zoulikha. After a string of knockout wins, Egor has gone the distance in three of his last four fights.

The Olympic gold medal winner, 31-years-old, will look to step up his competition in 2016.
