After spending time away from the ring with an injury, super bantamweight Efrain Esquivias hopes to build upon the best win of his career.

Esquivias will fight Ruben Tamayo in a scheduled eight round at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, CA on Friday night.

The bout will headline a seven-bout "Locked n' Loaded" card, presented by Thompson Boxing Promotions.

Esquivias (17-2-1, 10 KOs) has not fought since his ninth round knockout victory over Rafael Marquez in December in Indio, CA.  He has not fought since due to a back injury he suffered after the fight.

The Carson, CA resident was originally scheduled to fight Victor Sanchez, but the fight fell through. It would have been a rematch of their fight from June, which ended in a second round technical draw when the fight was stopped because of a cut over Sanchez's eye due to an accidental head butt.

Tamayo (24-4-4, 17 KOs) will be fighting for the first time in the United States. The Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico resident is unbeaten in his last three fights.

Tamayo stopped Ivan Reyes in the second round of his last fight on January 10th.

In the intriguing co-feature, unbeaten light welterweights Giovanni Santillan and Daniyar Hanyk square off in an eight round bout.

Santillan (11-0, 7 KOs) stopped Michael Balasi in the second round of his last fight in November. Friday night will mark the sixth fight in a row he will fight at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario.

Like Tamayo, the Ukrainian-born Daniyar (10-0, 4 KOs) will be fighting for the first time in the United States. He has not fought in over a year and none of his victories have come against a fighter with a winning record.

Lightweight Jose Roman (15-1-1, 11 KOs) is scheduled to fight in a scheduled eight round bout against a fighter to be determined.

In another bout featuring unbeaten fighters, Mario Amador (5-0, 3 KOs) and Carlos Valenzuela (6-0, 3 KOs) battle in a four round super featherweight bout.
