Hidden beneath the plethora of intriguing fights on various networks this weekend is a potentially explosive shootout between undefeated cruiserweights. Combining for a 92 percent knockout rate, Efetobor Apochi (11-0, 11 KOs) and Brandon Glanton (13-0, 11 KOs) square off on Sunday at The Armoury in Minneapolis, MN. The fight, the co-feature of David Morrell vs. Mario Cazares, will be broadcast on Fox.

Despite their relatively even records on paper, Apochi enters the ring a favorite on account of the quality of his opposition. While both fighters' records are littered with journeymen, many with losing records, Apochi has stepped up his level of opponents in the last year or so, while Glanton has remained stagnant.

"I told myself I only want undefeated guys from now on," Apochi said. "I don't want guys who have lost before. If I beat a guy who's lost before, that don't mean nothing to me. I'll take on anybody who is undefeated."

Facing a fellow undefeated fighter with a high knockout percentage is nothing new to Apochi. In his last fight, Apochi blasted Deon Nicholson (14-1, 13 KOs) to the canvas three times en route to a third-round TKO.

"I keep discovering myself. As time goes on, I'm getting to know me better," Apochi said. "I've come to realize that these guys are nowhere near my level. In the cruiserweight division I don't see anyone at my level right now."

Apochi, 34, was offered the fight four weeks ago but did not hesitate to take it despite the relatively short notice.

"I stay ready all the time," Apochi said. "I'm a full-time professional fighter so I have to stay ready. I understand that if anything happens in my life I take full responsibility so I always take care of business."

A transplant to Houston from Orogun, Nigeria, Apochi relocated to Houston to train under Ronnie Shields in 2017. Shields' game plan is for brain to prevail over brawn.

"Brandon Glanton is not a boxer," Shields said. "He's the kind of guy that comes straight ahead. He's not the kind of guy who's going to sit back and jab and try to set punches up. He just comes straight at you and throws punches. He's like a bulldozer so we're going to have to really be smart. Tobor is going to have to set punches up with his jab and then come over the top and hit this guy with punches he's never seen before. Glanton's never fought someone like Tobor before but Tobor's fought plenty of guys like him.

"It's going to be a good fight. This guy is undefeated, he's got 11 knockouts in his 13 fights. He's an ex-football player and he's a big, strong guy. But Tobor's ready, he feels good and he's going to knock this guy out."
