StubHub Center, Carson, California - Light heavyweight Edwin Rodriguez won a lackluster 10 round unanimous decision over Azea Augustama. In his first fight since losing to Andre Ward in November of last year, Rodriguez (25-1, 16 KOs) controlled most of the action, but did little to make the fight worthwhile to watch. Rodriguez almost landed at will, but would pose at times, winding up his right arm as if to land a bolo punch. Augustama (17-2, 9 KOs) tried to land one punch at a time, finding success, but doing little to try to get past Rodriguez's guard. All three judges scored the bout in favor of Rodriguez, 100-90, 100-90, and 99-91.

Middleweight Abie Han won a 10 round majority decision over contender Marcos Reyes. During the first half of the fight, Han (23-1, 14 KOs) was the more effective fighter of the two, beating Reyes to the punch during a majority of the exchanges, even though Reyes (32-2, 24 KOs) was able to slip a counter right or left hook. Han looked as though he was slowing down by the eighth round, prompting Reyes to increase his punch output. Reyes struck pay dirt near the end of the round by dropping Han to the canvas with a combination. Han was able to make it out of the round. Any momentum Reyes built from the eighth round went out the window after the ninth, when he threw and landed a punch after the end of the ninth round. Referee Jerry Cantu deducted a point from Reyes. In the 10th round, Reyes stalked Han, but was not able to hurt Han again. One judge scored the bout 94-94, while the other two judges scored the bout 97-91 for Han.

Junior welterweight Jaime Ocegueda scored a spectacular sixth round technical knockout over Moris Rodriguez. The action went back and forth between the two fighters, with Ocegueda (9-0-1, 6 KOs) landing more consistently. In the middle rounds, Rodriguez began to land the more telling blows. Midway through the fifth round, Rodriguez (5-5-1, 3 KOs) hurt Ocegueda with a barrage of punches. Towards the end of the round, a left hand dropped Ocegueda against the ropes. After making it through the round, Ocegueda had the upper hand in the sixth round, until Rodriguez stunned him with a combination to the head. As Rodriguez went in for the kill, Ocegueda landed a left hook that dropped Rodriguez to the canvas. Rodriguez got up, but was in no condition to continue, prompting referee Marcos Rosales to stop the bout at 2:31.

In a bout featuring lightweights making their professional debuts, Ruslan Madiyev won a four round unanimous decision over Oscar Rojas. Madiyev, who trains in Big Bear Lake, Calif. with Gennady Golovkin, dropped Rojas in the first round with a left uppercut to the head. Despite getting hit repeatedly, Rojas stayed in the pocket, trying to trade with Maiyev in the center of the ring. Despite Madiyev tiring in the third round, he hurt Rojas with a barrage of punches towards the end of the round. Rojas was able to make it through the final round. All three judges scored the bout 40-35 in favor of Madiyev.

Featherweight Walter Sarnoi won a four round unanimous decision over Sergio Najera. Sarnoi (16-4, 10 KOs). Najera controlled the action early on, but Najera (8-16-2, 2 KOs) landed more consistently as the fight progressed. Najera was deducted a point from referee Sharon Sands in the third round for landing a punch below the belt. Sarnoi slowed down considerably in the final round, but was able to make it to the final bell. All three judges scored the bout in favor of Sarnoi, 40-35 40-35, 39-36.
