It could be the end of the road for former World Boxing Council super bantamweight champion Victor “Vikingo” Terrazas (38-4-1, 21KOs), 33-years-old. He was blasted out in two rounds by young up and comer Eduardo “Rocky" Hernandez (21-0-3, 17KOs) at the iconic “Arena Coliseo” in Mexico City.
Hernandez, only 18 years old, captures the WBC super featherweight International title.
Terrazas was looking to make a statement in the contest and admitted that he was in a do or die situation regarding his future in the sport.
It was a classic Spring and Autumn showdown of experience vs. youth. Hernandez's strength and power punching was too much for Terrazas to handle.
Terrazas returned to the ring back in July, when he won a majority decision over 21-11 Cristian Arrazola. It was his first fight in three years. He was inactive since getting knocked out by Leo Santa Cruz in their WBC super bantamweight title fight in August of 2013 at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. Terrazas captured the belt with a close twelve round split decision over former champion Cristian Mijares. He also holds wins over world champions Fernando Montiel and Nehomar Cermeno.
For Hernandez, it was his fifth fight of the year and all four of his previous opponents were knocked out.
