Eduard Skavynskyi hopes to add his name to the list of top fighters to have come from Ukraine.

The unbeaten-Skavynskyi will face Alejandro Frias Rodriguez tonight at the Infinite Reality Studios (formerly known as Thunder Studios) in Long Beach, California. The eight round junior welterweight bout will stream live on Marvnation.com (10 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT).

Skavynskyi (14-0, 7 knockouts) was born in Ukraine and now resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. In his last bout in May 2021, Skavynskyi dropped Joel Julio once en route to a unanimous decision victory. Skavynskyi also has victories over Laszlo Toth and Idd Pialari.

Since his victory over Oleksandr Ivanov in August 2018, Skavynskyi has won five of his six fights by decision.

Skavynskyi has drawn the interest of Southern California promoter Marv Rodriguez, who is promoting tonight’s card in Long Beach.

Frias Rodriguez (14-9-2, 6 KOs), who resides in Tepic, Mexico, defeated journeyman Ramon Barajas by unanimous decision in his last bout on March 11.

The win over Barajas snapped a five-bout losing streak for Frias, including defeats to unbeaten fighters Luis Feliciano, George Rincon and Ector Madera.

In the main event of the Marvnation Boxfest 55 card, Katherine Lindenmuth (5-1) of Albuquerque, New Mexico will face Yadira Bustillos (7-1) in an eight-round strawweight bout.

Tonight’s clash between Lindenmuth and Bustillos is a rematch of their clash on September 17 of last year. Bustillos, who resides in Las Vegas, defeated Lindenmuth by majority decision.
