Sinaloa's Edgar Puerta (23-4-1, 19KOs) is now working out the final details of his preparation prior to embarking on the trip to Japan where he will be challenging the WBC super featherweight world champion Takashi Miura (27-2-2, 20KOs) on the 22nd of November.

Puerta, who trains in Tijuana, Baja California; under the command of Don Romulo Quirarte, knows that this opportunity was earned and he thinks the leverage of his mandatory status is the perfect opportunity to capture the title from Miura at home.

"I have every confidence that we will get the win. Miura is not invincible, he has two losses, we saw that he also goes down and I believe that I have the right strategy to return with a world title," Puerta said.

"I've seen the videos of his recent fights, he is not as complicated when you do not stand there. I have good sparring partners that closely resemble the style of Miura, strong lefties. I'm ready for whatever, have a winning mentality, I know perfectly well that I'm the challenger and I'll have to go find the championship since the bell rings to announce me as the winner."
