Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has hit back at some of the recent statements that were made by former undisputed junior welterweight champion Chantelle Cameron.

Last month in Dublin, Cameron was outboxed over ten rounds in her high-stakes rematch with Katie Taylor.

Earlier this month, Cameron was critical of the officiating in the rematch - and she was also critical of Hearn.

Cameron felt Hearn was visibly upset when Taylor tasted defeat in the first encounter. She also felt Hearn was cheerleading when Taylor came away with the rematch victory.

"They always knew I was a threat against Katie Taylor, and that's what happened in the first fight when you see Eddie nearly crying when I actually beat her. In the second fight, in the celebrations, he forgot I was his fighter as well," Cameron told BBC Look East.

"He was jumping up and down, happy. Obviously, they've had a great story together and a great journey, but they represent me as well. I want the trilogy, but it's hard to work with someone who does that to you. I respect him as a promoter; I became undisputed [champion] under him, but that [Hearn celebrating Taylor's win] was a little bit cruel and embarrassing for me as well."

Cameron's statements made their way back to Hearn, who wasn't happy with her claims.

"I wasn't happy with the comments. I like Chantelle. She never seems to be happy with the job we've done," Hearn told IFL TV

"Sometimes we sit down, and I say, 'We got you a world title fight behind closed doors, which was very difficult to do, you won that. Then we got you a defense in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay or MGM, wherever it was.

"Then I created a tournament just for you to get you undisputed. Then in that first fight, Dillian Whyte pulled out, and I kept that show on to headline with you at the 02, costing me several hundred thousand pounds of losses to keep the show on. Then the tournament fell through because Kayleigh Reece effectively retired, and I got you a voluntary defense, which was difficult to put on. Then I got you an undisputed shot in Abu Dhabi against Jessica McCaskill for a lot of money.

"Then I got you two life and career and legacy-defining fights with Katie Taylor back-to-back and made millions of pounds. I don't know what else we can do."

There is some talk of a Taylor-Cameron trilogy fight, which Hearn is interested in staging if the numbers make sense.

"If everyone is sensible with the numbers, I believe we'll get that fight made," Hearn said. "There's no hard feelings between myself and Chantelle. I watched the interview, and I was just like, 'Wow,' but it's boxing. We don't all have to go out and have mince pies together, but we want to do good business together."
