Heavyweight contender Eddie Chambers (36-3, 18KOs) is ready to move down in weight and challenge WBA cruiserweight king Denis Lebedev (25-1, 19KOs). After his most recent victory, Lebedev and his manager, Vladimir Hyrunov, called for a fight with Chambers at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Chambers, who weighed 202-pounds [two pounds above cruiser limit], lost a close decision to Tomasz Adamek in June. Chambers has recently discussed the possibility of going down to fight at cruiserweight.

"Sometimes you find yourself in a situation where you want to take chances, and do it with faith in yourself. I hope to have enough time to prepare, as Lebedev is difficult guy. He threw a challenge to me and I'm willing to take it. Hopefully this fight will take place in the near future. I want to come into this fight at 100%. The main thing is not getting injured again during training camp," Chambers said.

"Lebedev is very good. He always waits for the ideal opportunity to land a decisive punch. He is also very athletic guy, quick and savvy. I think his main advantage is his dimensions: they are comparable to mine."
